12  855 - Yew

As with her sister the English Yew, she is full of poetic mystery. The Yew’s trunk hollows out in time, leaving no tree rings to tell us of her grand age. From her original roots she grows new trunks to rejuvenate. She is a tree of Life; a tree of Resurrection, a tree of bounded Eternity. The symbolic lesson she gives, originate from the rhythms of her long life, which is that she transcendence death.

She perches like an Eagle, purring across a Winter Solstice, a feisty crone, an elder guarding the underworld, looking after all the processes relating to the guiding of souls from one world to the next.
